You're right, it would be nice to know how these chips are made and what might cause this to happen if it is a manufacturing issue.

The design seems consistant overall so I thought I'd post it so you can see what I was talking about. I also noticed the edge inserts where the suits and dice are, are longer & thicker on the left chip. That's why I thought it might be a reorder.
