The only way I've found to make these chips with reflective inlays readable is to use a photo editor like Photoshop to lighten the inlay area. Use a circle selection tool to get just the inlay and then adjust Levels to make it readable. Here's an example.

It takes some playing with the size and position of the selected circle area. On my example it's a little too high and needs some tweaking.
