I quit 25 years ago after smoking for 5 years, which isn't very long but I was a 3 pack a day smoker so the ciggies had their claws in me pretty good! The two things that were a life saver for me was Nicorette Gum and just taking it a day at a time. When I started to quit I didn't know if I could do it long term but I knew I could get through TODAY without smoking. Then I got through the next today, and the next today, etc...
