The Sands blue and Sands gold dollar chips were the last dollars in play before the place closed. They were all gone by closing time. Everybody paid a dollar for these, some in large quantities. I bought about 20 of each myself from the cashier, all uncirculated. They were VERY popular on eBay for several years and almost always sold for at least $10 each.
Completely different from the situation where the place closed and the chips were offered to a dealer in bulk. These were the penny chips you hear about. Dean and Jodi sold a number of Reno chips in shrink-wrapped rolls for very low prices when they were doing chip shows. All denonimations.
