... I have seen high denomination chips that are obsolete or from a long closed casino selling FAR below face value on occasion. I realize they may be too may out for there to be much premium over face but BELOW face? SOMEONE had to lay out the face value for these right (non-cancelled), so ar they just taking a loss? How do these chips find their way into collecter circles so under valued (under face)? A find of certain chips explains SOME of them, what about others? I have never fully understood it....
Prime example... I paid under $25 for the WHOLE set
