Howdy Herz's Nevada chip book from 20 years ago was the first place I saw l the portraits listed with identifying numbering. This was really a pioneering book for collectors and had many pictures, although only in black/white. Howdy recently reprinted some of the reference info from that book but I'm not sure whether the Smith family portraits are in it or not.
