$20 Chip of the Day - Sands 17th Issue

Up today is the 17th (and final) issue from the Sands:

Interesting to note is that this is the only $20 issued (of 6 total) in the larger 43mm size traditionally associated with Baccarat, although previous issues were also marked 'Baccarat'.

To any more knowledgeable chippers out there, it would be interesting to know when over-sized chips first made their debut-- it seems like a relatively recent phenomenon. Mid to late 80s would be my guess, although it is just that-- the Hilton and Caesars seem to have the oldest oversized chips I can think of off the top of my head.

Thanks for looking. grin

P.S. I am always in search of $20s from Nevada that I don't have-- if you have any that need a new home, please contact me. It looks like I was about 30 minutes too late last night from getting the other Paris $20 jetons that I need at good prices. Oh well, reading my daughter a bedtime story was worth it. grin
