Re: AT&T now services the Prodigy.net users

It's been prodigy.net for quite a while. I'm trying to remember the sequence. SBC bought Prodigy, then Yahoo bought SBC, then AT&T bought all of the IP's involved in the acquisitions between those two.

As to AT&T servicing Prodigy, the word "service" is a bit of a joke. The AT&T billing process is different from their phone service billing. I can't do anything online concerning my Prodigy account because I don't have phone service with AT&T. Their online system is set up to register phone customers for online activities like paying phone bills, but I can't do the same thing for Prodigy. I have to call them to ask a questions about Prodigy Internet. ....and their business office hours for these calls are only 8-5 central time on weekdays. The ONLY reasons I still have Prodigy is because my email address is/has been primary to both activities and personal contacts for more than a decade, and I use the available 15 meg of webspace to store images.

I haven't connected to the internet via dial up in more than two years. I don't have a working hard wired phone line in my home, and my Verizon Aircard is paid for by the folks who pay me to watch fast cars.
