AT&T now services the Prodigy.net users

If you try to go to prodigy.com, you get the AT&T site, Archie. Southwestern Bell (SBC) ended up with Prodigy users and after purchasing a controlling interest in the company, and later rebranded to AT&T.

For those who haven't been collecting too long, Prodigy's message board was the place many of us got started with on-line chipping in the 90's, before there was Greg's CHIPBOARD, or a CCGTCC website. Prodigy was started as a dialup service in 1984, a joint venture of Sears Roebuck and IBM (can you believe it!).

I used to have a prodigy mailbox, but when Prodigy disappeared, I found no email programs that could convert the years of history I had in messages, so just went with that supplied by my ISP (currently comcast) and used the Eudora mail program. I now have a mailbox on the family service that my nephew set up several years ago to give us LUEDERS.US email addresses. My comcast address still works, and forwards to the lueders mailbox. For many years, my rudimentary prodigy website was still accessible on-line!

Wikipedia has a history of Prodigy at:
