Got this $25 token from an eBay auction. There was a green colorized version in another lot that I forgot to bid on. This must have been a later addition to Janice's token catalog as my 2003 version doesn't have it. Vince's catalog does list a colorized Fitzgeralds as O'Neal Cat. 9302, but doesn't specify the color. These token seem to be colorized with some sort of coating, maybe a tinted laquer? One side of mine is a darker orange than the other, apparently from a thicker coating. Mintmark is NCM.

I wonder if these were colored to provide a prize if won from a machine? Probably not, as $25 was a pretty big play for a Reno club in 1991. Does anyone remember a "lucky pot of gold" promotion at the Fitz in Reno?

Has anyone seen this token in any color other than green and orange? How about the Fitz $25 token without a coating?
