Sure, there are some people that are into chips just for the money, but the vast majority enjoy the history of the casinos. So...that said, think about what it is that you like about the chips. What is it that you like about the casinos? What drew you to the hobby? What casinos do you enjoy the most? These are all important things when it comes to the hobby. Now....think about what you would like your collection to be in 1 year...or 5 years. Hopefully, the answers to these questions can help to guide you into a specific area. It's best not to try to collect evereything. Those that have started that way often find themselves refining their collecting and collecting focus after they have a lot of chips that don;t speak to them any more.
If you ever get to the chip shows or convention, you'll be amazed at how many chippers are carrying cameras. I'm talking about chippers that have been in hundreds of casinos in tons of cities. Yet, they still take pictures of the casinos even though they've been there many times before. Curious folks us chippers !
You may want to take advantage of the Club's Mentoring program. We can hook you up with an experienced collector to help guide you, answer questions and be your mentor. At the least.....you get yourself a chip buddy to look out for you. If interested....sign up through the club website.
