I'll be picking up a car in New Orleans tomorrow. My original 4 day reservation was going to cost me $226 for an economy car, and that was just a couple bucks more than the hold/charge cash floaters. Alamo sent me an internet only special offer for $10/day weekend rentals good from a couple weeks ago through the end of May. I made another reservation for the same car and same dates for this weekend using the special offer. That $226 bill dropped down to $75 after taxes and fees! What is most sweet about the deal is, it didn't require prepayment, so I canceled/rebooked two other rentals (in North Carolina and Oklahoma}, and made an additional four reservations for other parts of the country, all at $10/day!
