A few newbies have asked, what is the "SPLASHY" award all about, so here goes:

Each year at the annual convention held in Las Vegas, a large group of members gather around a bar{it bstarted at the "SPLASHBAR" @ the Riviera, hence the neme} & talk about "CHIPS" during the week. On Friday afternoon after the Bourse floor closes & before the club auction, I at the direction of the 297 secret judges present to that / those member[s] who go above the normal actions of members. Here is a list of past winners & what they did to win & should give you an idea of what is all about. Before that, I would like to say, one of the main reasons also is to get new memnbers aquainted with older members & make the convention a fun experiance, so if you are attending, come to the new "SPLASHBAR" & there will be some member at most times & say hello, you won't regret it:

"Past "SPLASHY" award winners:

"SPLASHY 1"----Doug Smith. All he did was to drink the bar out of Glenlevet Scotch & that's no easy chore & also put more houra at the bar than Neal Silverman

"SPLASHY 2"----Ron "BAM" May {"BAM" stands for Big Ass Margirita} & if you saw the size of them you would know it was a fantastic feat that he drank 6 in one night, just beating out Darrall Lynch for the title.

"SPLASHY 3"---Aaron "flying Peacocks" Peacock. Aaron, went beyond & above regular action by crashing through the Hotels elevator door

"SPLASHY" 4"-- Tammy & Darrell Lynch. To be awarded this year. Our first tie & could not be better. Anyone who attends the conv, knows these wonderful people. Tammy has been known to stay up "ALL" night addicted to video poker & involved in all manners of club chores. Now Darrell is another story, as runner up the past two years the 297 secret judges voted to award him this year.

So, while you are at the conv & at the bar, you will be watched by the 297 secret judges & later on in the year after going over their notes, will vote for the next "SPLASHY" award winne & inform me of their chioce & I will then inform the club member(s) who won this high honor.
