You're right, but I predict that the day will come when some of those who would consider it a dump will regret not visiting the place while they could.
When we used to go to Nevada, we didn't take many pictures...in fact, we stopped bringing a camera. NOW when I think about the casinos that I visited, things that I saw, that I never took pictures of.... . I've been to the Landmark, the Silver Slipper, Castaways and Hacienda (among others)...as well as a few of the small short-lived downtown casinos, including the Golden Goose. No pictures . We went to the Dunes liquidation sale...we were in the suites...no pictures . Opportunities missed. And I think that some of the older/smaller places are presenting opportunities to get a glimpse of something that will never be found in a modern brass & glass mega-casino. I hope people will take advantage of the opportunities...
Besides...those huge old back-bars are GORGEOUS!!
Here's the one at the Arizona Club
It appeared later at the Gay 90's bar at the Last Frontier
I've wondered what happened to that gorgeous mahogany bar. For awhile we thought it might be at the McGill Club...but that's a different mahogany bar, also gorgeous!
I sure am glad I've learned to appreciate the "dumpy" old places that have character...
