NCR...Well, A Long Time Ago...

Their was this guy by the name of "Weiner McCorkle", he designed custom door knobs and everyone wanted one, even the Apache, so that's what the welcome sign was for.

You can see one below.

Now, when the El Rancho was designed Beldon had this vision of what he wanted his knobs to look like.

Point in history, he used the very first Marks-A-Lot to rough in the design. You can see it below. Apparently "Weiner's" prices were outrageous and he opted for the generic knobs.

"Weiner" gave up and went home to Ely and opened the Ely Noodle Company. It can be seen in old street scenes of Aultman (Main Street) in Ely.

Now, you know the rest of the story.
