Yes. Medicare pays 80% and my co-insurance pays the 20%...
I have not forked over a dime to anyone since I've been on The Original Medicare plan which is run by the Federal government... I also have a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida that costs me about $50 per month just in case I may need costly meds. Right now all I go to the drugstore for is Lisinopril which has no co-pay. I've got the best BC&BS can offer to pay the 20% and that costs me $220 per month. I can go wherever I want and see whomever I want if I should need to without wondering if another plan will cover me or if I may have to pay addional costs for certain services as other plans may require and I do not need a referral from my doctor; I just go to whomever I please to go to under the Original Medicar pan. Kind of peace of mind at a price knowing that my Original Medicare pland is safe and sound and run by the Federal government and not a private company... though, some of the Advantage plans I've read about do offer some pretty good coverage at affordable prices...
So, it costs me about $270 a month (co-insurance and drug pan). Prior, I was paying $1,400 a month with BC&BS of Florida. A real bargain, now... and I hope it stays that way...
