BTW, cleaning and making a chip look is good as possible is not good but no one says a word when a chip is defaced with a sharpie I don't get it.

Also, I believe that the underlying reason for not agreeing with what I do to c&s stems from the coin culture, ie anything done to a coin is not good, worse than that is a very bad thing to do, a form of cheating.
