... correctly, PLEASE DO NOT.
It has been made very clear by at least two of the names you included in your post that they commented on the practice/methods of your cleaning [sandpapers-oils] and not simply cleaning in general.
Personally; I've noted in recent threads that I would rather buy an uncleaned example of a chip and even pay more for it if there were two offered (cleaned and uncleaned) since I have no idea how the chip was cleaned. I've also made it quite clear that I've damaged chips while cleaning them (and explained the whole process of water seeping under the inlay and popping the inlay in a few years)... and mentioned that I've lost antique plaques in the cleaning process as well by not knowing/realizing what all could damage the finish or absorb the moisture causing all kinds of havoc down the road.
You are the one who has come on this board commenting that you find it "humorous" of those who do not clean chips... and each of those whom you mentioned had explained their reasons, fully, without ever saying they were right and you were wrong.
Thank you,
JB
