Ink rings, probably resulting from a ball point pen, which has been deliberately applied to the chip is not the same as 'grunge' which naturally accumulates over a long period of time. The ink rings on the chip in the scan that accompanied the post is the same as graffitti and as far as I'm concerned is defacing the chip which lowers it's value and the unsatisfied
buyer should have requested a refund from the seller before he cleaned the chip. I'm well aware that some folks like their chips squeaky clean ... and that's their privilege. I admit to cleaning some of my chips on occassion, but not as a general practice.
