Yes...it is illegal.....but:One of the greatest sporting thrills I ever witnessed was by the Canadian runner Ben Johnson in the 1988 summer Olympic games when he destroyed the field(and especially that blowhard Carl Lewis) in the 100 yard run. It was so damn exciting to watch. Was I devastated to learn that he was eventually found to be doped up? ABSOLUTELY...but it will still be a thrill that I will never forget. Were other runners doped up as well? Who knows...possibly and more likely probably,but he was the one who got caught.
Do I like to see players crank out 500' plus homers? Yer darn tootin' I do and I am sure that others get a rush from it as well.
I am not saying that I condone the use of steroids but I sure as heck love the results at times.
Too bad that players feel that they have to cheat to get results but with the salaries these guys get,I am sure that they feel they have to juice up to keep the owners and fans happy and if one player does it and excels it is no wonder that others try it as well. Sad but understandable to me anyway.
