Plan you convention trip today...
Good news, bad news--Southwest finally advanced their reservation dates up thru August. The bad news is that they want over $300 to get to Vegas from here. Fortunately the other airlines decided to have a sale and while I couldn't get great connections we did book the trip for about $225 total per person. Now if we get lucky and American changes our schedule maybe we can change the times to get better connections. That may be a reality since Delta changed our recent trip to Nassau 5 times before the plane left the ground. Most airlines, if they change your schedule will allow you to change your schedule to better suit your needs.
We also booked a rental car but the rates this year are a lot higher than in previous years. We got a $115 rate for the week but that goes up drastically with the $60 in taxes. I was thinking that maybe the rates would be lower if the date was closer but when I checked for Febuary and March they were $175 base rate and up. Ouch! We also booked a few days at Circus for $19-25 per day before and after the convention but may cancel them depending on South Point. Since we can't get home until Tuesday and I really like Slots A Fun we may just move there for a few days.
