I bought my wife an Ipod Nano as a present in December 2007. For an Ipod, it has led an exceptionally cushy life. Other than being attached to my laptop to upload music, it has stayed in an Ihome to play music in our kitchen. Yesterday morning, it worked just fine. In the afternoon, my wife went to play it, and the Ihome said no ipod was attached. We took it out, and it was just dark. No sign of life no matter what we did. I hooked it up to my laptop, and it would register a storage device for a minute or two in the explorer, but then would disapeer. I have not been able to charge it in several devices. I tried to do a reset, but got no response when I held down the center button. Any suggestions, or are we sol?
Of course, I never backed up her ipod, so I will have to pick out the 1900 or so songs I hand-picked out of the much larger choices on my itunes, whether we have to buy a new Ipod or not. She really loved her Ipod, too.
