I dont quite understand the other part. I do know that in LV there is a more complex formula applied to determine the amount that has to be held on deposit against liabilities, so cant really compare with AC, BUT, surely in your example, where only half are sold, the money in escrow only covers that half. The other half have no impact at all whether you destroy them or not.
