memberships come through the mail, Rick (although based upon the last mailing to the treasurer, the gap is decreasing) and the online renewals have e-mail addresses. The problem is getting information to ALL of our members and the only way to do that currently is through snail mail. Our club's By-Laws also dictate the method & timing of nomination mailings as well as election ballots. Can it all be changed...sure. But the biggest concern has to always be that we reach each & every member. I would say that the most active members are on-line and maybe they (we) are the ones that participate most. But the other "non on-line" members are due the same rights & consideration.
I'm sure that there are ways to ensure that each member only submits one electronic ballot and that it remains secret and everything else, but we don't have the money to have someone put that in place & it's highly doubtful that there would be members committed to volunteer that much of their time. Of course, we could always ask David Spragg to do it...he's not doing anything from 10:15 to 10:17PM
