I'm pretty sure the wKs was the chip of William Signius Knudsen--the president of Chevrolet when the chips were ordered in 1928 (and president of GM 1937-40).
The winged-tire was used in Chevrolet ads in 1928 (see below). Knudsen liked to play poker with other GM execs.
