CORRECTION: In your article you note "In May 2000 the Bahamia Casino opened in Lucaya..." and "The Bahamia only lasted a short while and in 2003 became the Isle of Capri, Our Lucaya." That is not correct. The casino at Bahamia was in Freeport and became The Oasis... and the Isle of Capri is in Lucaya. Prior to the Isle, London Clubs was to open on that property, but they ran into problems and the gig was never completed. What was the Oasis (the old Princess) was taken out in the hurricanes of of 2004-05.

At one time there were two ferries that left Ft. Lauderdale for Nassau on a daily trip, but they were very short-lived. The crossing was faster than the Riviera Beach - Freeport trip.
I've been going over since 1972; GBI as well.
Some club members have been going over from the 60s.
Carnival once had a piece of the action at Lucaya as well... after GENTING.
