I went to Harrington Casino and Raceway tonight with an old friend from hugh school, His wife had passed away about 2 months ago and I wanted to get him out of the house to have a little fun. I had a coupon for 2 free buffets and he had not been to the Casino for about 6 or 7 years. I told him, "Let's go eat dinner and maybe we can get lucky and win something on the new mechanical roulette machine they had installed about a montyh ago".
We got to the Casino around 6:30 pm and had a nice meal in the buffet and then we went to play roulette. I had gotten a postcard in the mail for a series of cash drawings they were going to do every two hours. I deposited my postcard in the bin and we started playing roulette. They announced the 8:00 pm winner and it wasn't me so we contiinued to play roulette. Just before 10:00 pm, my friend was about $65.00 up on the roulette machine and I had lost $15.00. I said to my friend - "listen I bet their going to call out the 10:00 pm winner and it's going to be "Gerald Birl". He laughed and said - Yeah right !!! About 2 minutes later the announcer said the winner of the $500.00 prize for the 10:00 pm drawing is ......Gerald.....Birl. I jumped up and ran over to the lounge and collected my prize of $500.00. What a great way to finish off a fun evening.
Now I have some extra money for my trip to Las Vegas next week. LIFE IS GOOD !!!!
