Circuit City, well at least in the NY metro area ws never really considered to be a place to pick up a bargain. With only 10% off on the most sought after items like computers and TV's you could most likey do better elsewhere. 6th Avenue electronics for one has always been a favorite of mine here but you have to watch for their adverised prices as their on line prices are always higher.
I think by the time that Circuit City gets into the deeper discount phase, anything worth buying will most likely be gone.
I'm just wondering why the large appliance retailers all seem to fold. In my area I have seen the demise of many...Crazy Eddie, Trader Horn, Topps, Newmark Lewis just to name a few
