The Federal Republic of Germany is a country in Central Europe that is bordered to the north by Denmark, the North Sea, and Baltic Sea; to the east by Poland and the Czech Republic; to the south by Switzerland and Austria; and to the west by the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and France. ENJOY!!

Deuteche Mark: Old English: "Marc" is a unit of weight of precious metals perhaps from the marks on metal bars.

The note selected today is a 1991 issue of a West German 5 Duetsche Mark note.
There is no Exchange rate on this note as East & West Germany has both consolidated and gone to the Euro Dollar. The book value is $5.00 in UNC condition.

(Front) Bettina von Arnim (1785-1859) born Elisabeth Catharina Ludovica Magdalena Brentano, a German writer and novelist at right.

Note:Bettina Brentano was a writer, publisher, composer, singer, visual artist, an illustrator, patron of young talent and a social activist. She was the archetype of the Romantic era’s zeitgeist, and the crux of many creative relationships of canonical artistic figures. Bettina is best known for the company she kept. She had deep friendships with Goethe and Beethoven and tried to foster an artistic union between them.
