ALVOR, MONTE GORDO and VILAMOURA opened to the public circa 1973.These kind of jetons ( bicoloured plastic-10, 20, 50, 100,200, 500, 1000 escudos) were the first rack in use in those casinos-the casinos used them until 1990's. when they adopt acrylic BG jetons( 1000),and plastic ( 500 one colour only).The others denominations were no more in use, as in these times the minimal bid in the tables was 500 escudos.
Seven years ago when Euro currency was adopted in Portugal instead Escudos, the only of this three casinos that was still using these chips ( only the 1000) was Monte Gordo.
Now Casino Alvor is settled in Praia da Rocha, very close to Alvor ( Hotel Casino Praia da Rocha), and the other two casinos stays Casino de Vilamora e Casino de Monte Gordo.
