Even though I have a PO box (I only receive advertising mail at home), I still tip at Christmas and always offer a cool beverage to the carrier throughout the year as I also do with the trash pickup guys when I'm working out in the garden. There have been a few times that I either forget to put the container out by the road the nite prior, or not early enough to catch them in the morning, and they are so kind to walk up to the side of the house and take the container when I forget. I've always fealt it doesn't hurt to spring with a few bucks throughout the year.
