Our ex Prime Minister Howard started all these gun laws with an amnesty a few years ago now, people were handing their guns & rifles in at an alarming rate, but they were the law abiding citizens not the criminals.
Then they had the buy-back of firearms where by the government paid you for your firearms if you handed them in.
I believe in the way of America it is your right to own a gun, I have had a 38mm baretta for about 15 years now I purchased it when I was a tow truck operator in Sydney, & I can say I have never had a reason to discharge it in self defense yet!
But then if someone is in my home who is not supposed to be there, I would not think twice about shooting them.
