Jim, I recently attended a Gun Show in Orange County, CA, looking for a .22LR conversion kit for a Glock .40S&W I own. It was VERY crowded and I saw the same things you describe.

As a former Police Officer, I have always owned, and will always own, handguns. My family has always learned how to handle, use proficiently, and respect handguns. Unfortunately, my personal work experience exposed me to the worst side of the terrible things that people can do to one another. I believe the circumstances in Australia reflect what happens when people are led astray by "wishful thinking" rather than the use of practical knowledge and facts. I am sorry for the law-abiding citizens of Australia and pray that the citizens of the Unitied States are never led down the same path.
