I agree with your comments. Ebay is often too tempting with "deals" to step up and spend more than your budget or collection needs.
I am also worried about the "Playboy" factor, where the value of a chip is driven by the assumption that only 5 or 6 exist, and then some more suddenly appear. It sure seems that everyone nowadays has a $2.50 Brighton. I doubt that would happen with the RES-25, but what if 10 more appeared? What would that do to the value (percentage-wise)?
