...and the answer is not pretty.
Several bartenders were laid off....Nick is working, but sadly laughs that he has been "demoted". He is working the (gulp) SERVICE BAR at the front bar in the main casino area. He was quite sad that the club is not returning this summer (he actually looked downright angry about it).
Maybe it was because we were at the Riviera a week before Christmas, but the Casino was scarily quiet...business is down and Nick says conventions are canceling. We were there on a Friday night, and it was sooooo empty... maybe only 2 other people sitting at the huge main bar and entire banks of machines empty! Only 1 or 2 tables going in the poker room....very sad!
