To President Bush's credit, I think he handled it with his usual quirky grace. I think he is at his best when he is off the cuff and reacting to strange situations. It was pretty bizarre, and he had the Alfred E Neuman "what me worry?" look.
From my narrow, law-enforcement perspective, and acknowledging up front that I have no clue of the applicable Iraqi or International law that may apply, this guy should be prosecuted to the FULL extent of any applicable laws.
I look at it like this: Ahmadinejad (sp?) spoke in NY at Columbia University. If a journalist from the NY Post did the same, I'd want him prosecuted just as vigorously as I want this guy prosecuted, even though I know in my heart I'd be rooting for that shoe to break his nose. It shows a complete disrespect for basic civility. And an apology is not enough. Two years sounds a bit severe, but some time in jail is warranted.
