...was like snow in Las Vegas. It happens once in a while, and it never gets really cold. It was minus 4 degrees when I woke up Monday morning. By 3:00 in the afternoon, when I had to take some packages to the UPS service center, it had warmed all the way up to zero! That wouldn't be too bad if the heater in my car worked. Last August, the heater core in my car decided the coolant/antifreeze belonged on my shoes and on the floor instead of in the engine. I didn't (and still don't) have the $1,100 it costs to replace the heater core. When it's zero (or below), unless you can drive without breathing, the windows ice up on the inside of the car. That makes for an exciting ride! I usually don't mind exciting, but when my fingers and toes are painfully low in blood circulation due to the extreme cold, it is becomes a form of exciting that isn't any fun at all.
