I know that much of the strip is not part of the city of Las Vegas.
But if you look at a map of the actual city, there are big “pockets” inside the city that
are not a political part of the city.
There is one big pocket bordered by Centennial Parkway and Alexander Drive.
There is another bordered by Meisenheimer Ave and Centennial Parkway.
There is even one bordered by Red Rock and Edmond, just North of Sahara.
And there are a lot of other smaller pockets.
It seems odd that these are totally surrounded by the city, but are not part of the city.
Are they unincorporated (Clark County) or part of another city (Maybe N. Las Vegas)?
I have absolutely no knowledge of Nevada law, but it seems that when a city expands, it
incorporates everything within its boundaries. At least that is my impression from other
cities I have lived in.
Just curious.
Thanks
Mike
