Casino Municipal Venice
I was there, what a place. First off, when you tell the water taxi guy that you want to go to the casino, they figure that you are rich and charge at least double the going rate. You have to go through security to get into the casino in the ground floor lobby. It is very much like airport security, you have to show your passport and are issued a ticket to allow you to enter. I can't remember if they had an admission charge. Then it is upstairs to the casino. At that time is was pre-euro, so the denominations were in (1,000's of) liras. I think about 2,000 lira was worth around a $1.00 back then. The slot machines were ancient, no video poker. Table games were european, no craps and only a couple of black jack tables, it was mostly roulette. I did find some great chips on the one Caribbean Stud table that used as a drop chip.
