I remember when I went through basic training in Fort Gordon Ga. just outside of Augusta in the late 60's it snowed one day.
I would say perhaps an inch, you would think the world ended. Not only didn't they know what to do, have any snow removal equipment but many had never even seen snow.

On the other side of the coin, some years later I drove to the twin cities. I recall it snowing like there was no tomorrow, there must have been several inches on the roads and while I was being quite careful driving, cars were passing me as if they were at a road rallye.

I guess you learn to live with things like that
