But do you not see the problem with Toyota building a vehicle in its Kentucky plant and paying its workers $35 and hour with benefits when GM is paying $70+ in Detroit?
We are not talking about foreign workers in the Toyota plan, we are talking fellow Americans that count on their job and are happy to be making the wages they are paid.
And to make matters worse, the Toyota plant is putting out vehicles that are more fuel efficent, better quality, safter and in almost all cased have a higher overall consumer rating, satasfaction and resale value?
Yes the UAW can stand proud and reject any concessions. By doing so they will not only be out of a job themselves, but also cause millions on NON-Union workers who are secondary customers to the auto industry to be without a job as well.
So, its not so simple as to say "Buy American" as that wont fix our current problem.
