Jerry, I have a few of those type of chips as well. I considered them as generic designs that were engraved after manufacture. Most seem very poorly done by hand. My guess on age is late 1800s. In Seymour's book it looks like Suydam had a design similar to the sawtooth one, only it had stars instead of little squares. My Pines chip is much newer on th Carlo design.
