Pollyannaish, an adjective word....

Pollyannaish (adjective)

Belittling and often insulting term for being absurdly optimistic and good-hearted, believing in a good world where everything works out for the best all the time. Often in combination with being God-fearing and perceiving oneself standing on a higher moral ground than others.
The word "Pollyannaish" is derived from "Pollyanna," the heroine of Eleanor H. Porter's famous novel "Pollyanna" (1913), whose outlook on life was one of absolute optimism and whose problems were always straightened out in the end.

Today I learned a new word, but I am not sure yet if I will be able to make a sentence using Pollyannaish I remember in my grade school that the English teacher would introduce a word, then define it and call the students to use the "word" in a sentence.

And today as in any other day I read the board I find so many things, ideas and information about chips and chippers - mostly in a positive modes that I absurd and can relate to other situations - which broaden my outlook in life in general and inter chipping and trading relationships in particular.

I thank the board and all the posters for what they do here - I get my informal education for FREE.
