Since the general opinion throughout this thread is that a cleaned chip is preferable over one that has been left in its natural state ... and that a cleaned chip sells for higher prices ... I guess the guide books will have to take into consideration that interesting revelation in their updated price guide valuations by adding asteriks for cleaned chips.
