Phyllis suggested I make a post to let everyone know which numbers were active and helpful, so here goes. The first number I tried was the 1-800-701-EBAY(3229). Debby thought you needed a PIN, but the answering machine asked for my phone number instead. Although I thought I'd updated that years ago (I mean, it's right there in my Personal Information!), their computer still had my old number. But that didn't matter because I was able to continue anyway. Then I just kept pressing "1" to sort through the different departments and options until I got someone to talk to. (At this point I really didn't care which department I was connected to as long as I got a person to talk to.) One of the problems was I needed to update some of my personal information (again!) and it certainly wasn't working over the computer, so the first person I contacted was able to do some of it for me. That was GREAT! And I think I successfully changed the rest.
She also gave me the eBay Stores Customer Suppor number: 1-866-322-9103. I talked with two different men over the next half-hour or so, and both were helpful. I'm not too sharp when it comes to computers (you know .... first you look here, then you look for some icon, click on this and then click on that .... and do it in the right order or who knows what might happen), so it took 2 phone calls. I wasn't immediately as successful here, but at least they got me headed in the right direction.
The only number Phyllis gave that works for eBay is the first one: 1-800-322-9266. Although I'd already gotten things taken care of by the time I tried this one, I did find out it's for Customer Support only. I guess it's like a direct line, with no options like the first number above. I think I'll try this one first the next time so I won't have to press "1" 3 or 4 times - maybe just once or twice.

PS: By the time I was done I had a killer head ache so I took a nap; I just woke up an hour or so ago, and I'm a happy camper now.
