Just back from Nv. could this be true?
I went to Laughlin, dead town, many poker rooms closed or only one table. Dealers are being laid off big time. Don Laughlin pulled a fast one he was gong to lay off a bunch of poker dealers, so he called a meeting for all dealers, then gave a surprise drug test, and half failed ( mostly weed) and fired those who failed, so he didn't have to pay for unemp. ins. and laid off 1/2 the those who passed the test. Then I was told Vegas two largest industries construction, and gaming, combined laid off 200,000 people the last 2- months. Could those numbers be true. I, also heard most houses now down in price 40-50 % from 2 yrs. ago. I think we have just seen the tip of the ice berg, regarding this economy. What a mess, with no good answers. So many people all over the nation effected. The hottest business now is reverse mortage, so seniors can keep the home.Young folks better get a job in health care, or a goverment job, nothing else is secure. Also, the Late Great Chip Collecting Hobby, is now for sale, with prices falling, only deep pockets not hurting. Will be interesting to see attendance #'s in June?
