When I broke in with Harrah's in 1985, you followed your bosses orders or you got fired right on the spot, so you worked hard and did the job. Now, you can ignore your boss, whine, complain, give crappy service, and still keep your job.
I work at Casino Arizona in Scottsdale now, and believe me, they treat the employees like gold. Great benefits, great atmosphere, and they bend over backwards for them. So, even though there is extensive training and a very high demand by management to give superior service and take care of the customers, the employees get every break and it is DAMN hard to fire somebody these days without incurring all kinds of HR problems, lawsuits etc.
It's not the company, it's the large number of employees that are spoiled and don't care about giving more than a 50% effort.
Now, as far as which political campaign is responsible, who gives a crap? Let's fix the problem. The US Government can't bailout every business that followed terrible business practices (like GM for God's sake) and expects somebody to help.
The way we are going right now, that $750 billion bailout will be a $4 Trillion dollar loan guarantee and bailout within a year. If you want to figure your share of that, the US has about 200 million people who pay taxes - that's $20,000 for every one of them. What the hell is our government thinking? Mark my words, you are going to hear numbers closer to $3-$4 trillion in the next 12 months.
