I would suggest that you offer black, red, and even white background, if possible. It all depends on the person, the chips(s) they are displaying, and where they are putting the display. More options will yield better results. I also agree with Steve. If there is glass in front of the chips, UV inhibitor/anti-reflective coating would be better.
