Yes, all of our communications have been civil and hopefully will remain that way.
What no one understood about my previous post, (and that’s because Archie Black had to get involved, because old people need attention and he of all has an ego the size of Alaska) the moment the auction ended for the Showboat, I received an email from Sheldon Smith asking for a quote so he could use my purchase for Club Promotion. He didn’t even bother to ask for permission. He flat out said "the purchase was public information" and he was going to use the sale with or without my quote or permission. Hence, my quote was rather reserved.
Later Wayne Thompson an officer of the CC & GTCC used my name and the purchase of my chip in another publication for further acknowledgement and enhancement of your club.
You all seem to think, that you have/had the right to exploit my purchase for the advantage of the club. And you know what? I didn’t have a problem with that. In fact, if any one would have really thought the entire issue through, my cooperation, my RE-JOINING the club and my help in promotion, could have brought the club an unbelievable amount of publicity, good will and CLUB exposure.
Personally for the club to pay my dues for the year, a whooping $30 to get my cooperation, and enthusiasm to help build the club, would have been worth more than ALL the money the club spends, (if they spend any) to advertise there is a club.
Of course I got the “YOU GLENN GRUSH HAVE A BIG EGO” post from Black.
Then that worthless piece of crap Shawn decided he would go after me because I had a job, a life and a net worth.
If anyone took the time to ask the people in the club or my friends on the board about my character and passion for the hobby, you would have a better understanding of me, my post and how I could have and would have been more than happy to help build YOUR CLUB. Seeing how I have a substantail chip investment, one would think I would like to increase interest and thus increase value of chips as a whole.
What most of your members fail to realize, if people like me don’t attend the convention, spend money with the dealers who set up and drag their inventory and goods from all over the country to sell, give it a year, there will be no convention. Your convention will be held on eBay.
Unfortunately, between Black and Shawn, I am now so turned off; I could now care less about doing anything to help. I am burned out on this board, so I am done. Perhaps you should contact the person who has two Showboat Chips as you indicate, and seek his/her help.
I hope I clarified my position and we remain on good terms.
Take care,
Glenn
