How true.. Norton did become a resource hog. It was an excellent piece of software years ago but just became to bloated. I gave it up an went with the free anti-virus, anti-everything provided by my IP.. and it was also a drain.. But it really worked for me and.. SO, I added more memory to compensate and all is well (for now)...
